Meet Rustom Kerawalla
Founder Chairman Rustom Kerawalla is regarded as one of India’s top edupreneurs. His advocacy for human development is based on the idea that everyone should have access to education, skill development and employment opportunities.
He embarked on an entrepreneurial journey in 2004 when he established the first VIBGYOR school in Goregaon, Mumbai. With 36 schools and more than 50,000 students, the VIBGYOR Group of Schools is a prominent player in K-12 Indian education today.
While he has made a significant impact in the K-12 space, Kerawalla is committed to advancing India’s Education-to-Work initiative. He believes that a country’s ability to develop depends on the level of education and skill development opportunities for its collective population. Only this can ensure that the next generation is employable and able to contribute to the nation’s progress. He has put this idea into effect and over the last 20 years, has actively worked to redesign the education and skill development ecosystem. Kerawalla’s ultimate goal is to develop scalable, sustainable solutions for Education, Skill Development and Livelihoods that will empower India to capitalize on its huge demographic dividend.
The Ampersand Group today provides a broad spectrum of education and skill development for every stage of the Education-to-Work process and collaborates with the government on a number of livelihood and skill development initiatives.
